SS490 is a kind of common carbon steel plate/sheet used as steel plate .SS490 and other series steel srades or levels in the Japanese standard JIS G3101 ,and they are SS330, SS490, SS540 .The equivalent of SS490 in Chinese grade is material GB Q275 .

SS490 steel plate/sheet can be hot-rolled or coled rolled .SS490 steel plate/sheet in the standard.The chemical composition SS490 steel sheet /sheet mainly conclude element C,Si,Mn,S,P,Ni,Cr and Fe.

SS490 is used as steel plate or steel sheet.The first S means Steel , the second S Structure , and 490 as the limit tensile strength of 490 MPa.SS490 is common carbon steel with the tensile strength of 490 MPa.

Mechanical propertites of SS490 steel plate/sheet is as following .Tensile strength of SS490 steel plate is 490-610Mpa.Elongation in 2 inches (50mm) of SS490 steel plate is 19 % .
